Sports Luxe: Trending

Hoodies, sweatshirts, fleeces, baseball caps, silky jogger pants, sneakers, trainers, bubble jackets, anoraks, bomber jackets, gym pants. Has there ever been a more perfect excuse to mix comfort and fashion?

Blair Waldorf Is Giving Me Life Envy

I would much rather be the Queen B of Manhattan, dishing out very adverse but soundly accurate life advice, wearing couture to feed ducks and eating green grapes with the most vigour; than probably just about anything else.

ROCOCO

Minimalism is so last season. I'm wearing pearls to bed and bathing in diamonds, ruffles are my new best friend and sheer layers give me the greatest pleasure. I'm learning from the best: 18th century aristocrats.

12 Times Alexa Chung's Street Style Made SS16 History

An icon and an IT-girl - here is a word-free collective of the archives of Alexa Chung's best street style moments - easily convertible to the SS16 trends. Ice cream makes a good companion to silent and unvoiced posts: multitasking is easier when the compilation of photos are so INCREDIBLY FABULOUS.

11 Stylish Films I Want To Watch On The Next Rainy Day

Because it's nice to imagine a day when you might actually have time to watch a film.

I can smell the summer holidays from here. *endless free time* I'm sitting on my couch. I've just started watching Atlantis because I binge-watched 3 seasons Reign in one month - 100% recommend. The summer smells like rainbows, daisies, swirly fashion photography and sticky wet bikinis covered in sun cream. Mostly sun cream, tbh. What better way to spend  3 months than by watching endless stylish films, making lists of the beautiful clothes worn by the most beautiful, stylish characters in said films, and then maybe wearing aforementioned outfits in a dream? Bonus points if you can make the list whilst simultaneously a) watching a second film, b) maybe eating some carrot cake and c) be fluid and free.

Just to clarify, stylish films are 10x better than non-stylish films because the stylish-ness has been scientifically (unofficially-ish) proven to increase IQ. It also serves as an excellent inspiration source. High five.

#GirlCrush Episode 1: Emily Charlton

Following the routine viewing (it seemed about time again) of The Devil Wears Prada, I took a character quiz and, would you believe it, I am apparently practically soul sisters with Miranda Priestly. I half agree and half disagree: I have always thought of myself as more of an Emily Charlton. Who wouldn't want such a sharp-cut voice, incredible and fluent ability to deliver in the driest and most hilarious sarcasm and the most polished and chic dress sense? Yeah, exactly. So, Andrea or Emily - the major debate before Edward vs Jacob arose. Even though I have used Andy's range of better outfits as #ootd inspiration since forever; I still feel a deep appreciation and applause for Emily's career drive (she came to work when she practically had the plague), her perfected eye roll, love for fashion and self-control (when was the last time you survived on a block of cheese for three weeks - dedication).

My Shoulders Are Cold

How much do I love having bare shoulders? Let me count the reasons.

7 Style Instagram Accounts To Follow Right Now

Instagram is such a fickle thing. It’s a high-maintenance platinum blonde 70’s blow-dried perm and Snapchat is a fun and flirty natural brunette bob. When is optimum-posting time? How soon should you pass 11 likes? Can you have a feed style? All these very severe, socially-threatening questions seem to be consuming. We can’t even post a photo anymore before adding a filter. I love Instagram for two reasons. 1) I get to admire everyone living on the other side of the planet, 15 years older than me, with an actual real-life job and salary and actual real-life beautiful clothing; and 2) I get to share my own life and raise those 3/10 days to at least a strong 7. Thx filters. Late disclaimer: follow me here and everywhere. *Cheeky smile*.

The Jean Shrimpton Style Files

This week has been a series of confused mornings, unfocused days, a few crazy evenings of Netflix and very exhausted nights. I seriously hope it isn't just me, but my to-do list seems to get bigger instead of smaller. Every time I cross something off, I add three more. I have been working endlessly and I can't see the stop sign anywhere nearby. It's like my feet are not actually on the ground, I'm just floating. And the worst part is, I can't actually name one single productive thing I have done. Every pastry has been in my mouth. Not just in my mouth... in my digestive system, of course - I swallowed them all. I have also made crying a habit because, tell mewhy do I need to know how Spain might be, hypothetically, planting a field of orange trees in order to produce more eco-friendly biofuels? I am also 98% certain that I lost a good fraction of my lower molars because I decided to unscrew a nail varnish bottle lid that may as well have been super-glued down.

an end to the year

An update. I feel quite ill at the thought of having to do revision tomorrow - disgusting, cruel and yet inevitable. Like hairs in a communal pool. Incredibly unnecessary. I also feel actually nauseous and I am 100% blaming the dates and olive oil. And the roast potatoes. And biscuits, granola, nachos, cake, stuffing, bread, burgers, chips, mince pies, peanut butter, chocolate and Skittles. I have had a fabulous Christmas. Anyhoo, I'm sacrificing any New Year meals because I might actually vomit if I have to eat another thing that isn't literally diluted lemon juice.

finally denim and finally culottes

Do you remember the first time you saw culottes and you had that heart-wrenching love/hate reaction. Well, I did anyway. Over the years I have grown to absolutely love them. I bought my first pair on Sunday at Topshop in the sale for £7 after years of dreaming. Try telling me that's not a bargain. I always try to be adventurous and branch away from polonecks but it's futile and I always stick to what I know. I know polonecks

So, enjoy.

The world needs to take Christmas inspiration from Birmingham.

Pizza Express 05/12/15

PS. Premiere Inn have upgraded their breakfasts and it is probably the most fantastic thing to have happened to budget, family-friendly hotels suitable for lovely quick one night stayovers. I had a cinnamon and raisin bagel, a fruit and granola bowl, toast with beans, tomatoes and mushrooms and tea and juice. Thx. And it was all vegan friendly. Also, they invested in peanut butter. Life gets better when the peanut butter comes out.
