Whimsical, beautiful, rich, nostalgic.
I don't know what it is about his photography, but I seem so drawn towards the incredible intricate detail in the scenes of each of Tim Walker's creations. Each square carries a different story and portrays a new mood. I like how many of the photos have a dark, dreamy mood - the lack of bright colours seems fitting to the elegance and lavishness of each photo. I love the playful, artistic feel to each photo; and the whole collection has a distinct vintage feel - specifically 1920-40s. It's like falling into the rabbit hole and landing on a bed of pearls, diamonds, red paint and tulle.
From his biography on his website: "Tim Walker’s photographs have entranced the readers of Vogue, month by month, for over a decade. Extravagant staging and romantic motifs characterise his unmistakable style. After concentrating on photographic stills for 15 years, Walker is now also making moving film."
